Job description
Instrument fitters assemble and install precise instruments that measure, indicate, transmit, record and control.
Instrument fitters may specialise as camera repairers, scale adjusters or surgical instrument makers.
Performs skilled instrument fitting duties for the installation, removal, repair and maintenance of a full range of instruments and ancillary equipment in Workshop or on Site. 2.
Must be skilled in the use of hand tools associated with the bench fittings and tube bending. Must have good Physical strength and stamina.
Responsibility
- Mounts and installs end devices such as pumps, switches, transmitters, regulators and level controllers
- Identify all tools required for tasks and identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks
- Use basic tools and care of the tools
- Assist mechanics in assembly and work performance
- Determination of the applicable procedures
- Development work plans
- Development of personnel requisitions, supplies, equipment, tools
- Training staff in the procedures
- Perform constructability reviews and coordination of required engineering priorities Management and execution of work packages for field work assignment according a program
